Alright, soccer fans, buckle up! The past Friday, the Houston Dash snagged their FIRST clean sheet of the season in a nail-biting 0-0 draw against NJ/NY Gotham FC at Shell Energy Stadium for the She Shines Night!
Let's give a HUGE shoutout to Jane Campbell! That woman was a WALL in goal! Her first save? A clutch denial of Ella Stevens in the 69th minute! She ended the night with two massive saves, and guess what? That's her 39th career clean sheet! Fourth-highest in the whole darn league! Legendary stuff!
And how about Maggie Graham?! Making her first start of the season and absolutely crushing it! Three recoveries and a chance created? That's how you make an entrance!
Yazmeen Ryan almost had us jumping out of our seats with that rocket in the 52nd minute, just a hair wide! Then, Evelina Duljan came off the bench and nearly stole the show with a late shot that forced a big save! Talk about excitement!
But let's not forget the defense! Natalie Jacobs was an absolute beast! Seven recoveries, a PERFECT 10-for-10 in duels, and three interceptions? Seriously? And with Paige Nielsen and Avery Patterson, they cleared the ball TWELVE times! That's a fortress back there!
What a night! The Dash showed grit, determination, and a whole lot of heart! Can't wait for the next one!
