The New York Knicks defeated the Houston Rockets 124-118 at Madison Square Garden on

February 3, 2025. The Knicks put up a strong game, but the Rockets had an 11-point advantage

going into the fourth quarter. With 17 of his 42 points in the game, Jalen Brunson played a key

role in the Knicks' comeback. He had six rebounds and ten assists as well.

Amen Thompson recorded his third career triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 11

assists for the Rockets, who have now lost three straight games for the first time this season. Off

the bench, Cam Whitmore scored eighteen more points.

There were several lead changes in the game's closing minutes. The Knicks led 115-114 after

Brunson's layup with 1:38 left, and they kept the advantage with clutch free-throw shooting.

Thompson's missed three-pointer as the shot clock ran out was the result of the Rockets' inability

to take advantage of their chances to restore control.

The Knicks added 22 points apiece from Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns. Josh Hart had

scored 19.

After an 11-4 January that garnered Ime Udoka Western Conference coach of the month

accolades, the Rockets have had a difficult start to February, losing players like All-Star Alperen

Sengun. No one taller than 6' 8" began for Houston on Monday.

The Rockets' season record now stands at 25-28 after this loss, which is their third straight loss.

They'll try to get back on their feet when they play the Boston Celtics next.
