Justin Jefferson Returns to LA Gifting Military Vet Super Bowl Trip
Justin Jefferson teamed up with USAA, Official NFL Salute to Service Partner, and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to gift a deserving military veteran and Vikings fan, SSG Kim Hubers, and her daughter a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a trip to New Orleans, where they’ll meet with Justin and other NFL stars in-person before attending the game.
SSG Hubers returns to New Orleans 20+ years after deploying for Hurricane Katrina response as a member of the Army National Guard.
Kim Hubers served 14 years in the Army National Guard (2001 - 2015), achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During her decorated service history, she was assigned to the 727 Transportation Company and 1742nd Transportation Company where her key roles and responsibilities included team leader, heavy vehicle operator, certified trainer and unit suicide prevention representative.
SSG Hubers served our country both domestically and abroad, including emergency response efforts for blizzards and flooding in Fargo, ND, clean up assistance in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and an oversea deployment to Iraq (2003-2004) at the beginning of the war. She was forced to medically retire due to service incurred injuries in 2015. Following her military career, Hubers worked with adults with developmental disabilities for many years and stayed home to raise her four children, learning to adjust to her medical conditions, while remaining active in volunteer work through her local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 1 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is the current department commander of South Dakota, and in 2023 was recognized as the Disabled Veteran of the Year winner.

“I’m humbled by the love and recognition I receive from our team’s supporters and wanted to return the favor by shining a spotlight on SSG Kim Hubers, a truly inspiring fan who always puts others before herself,” said NFL star Justin Jefferson. “It’s a special honor to team up with USAA, Visa and Disabled American Veterans to recognize Kim for being a great community leader, mother, patriot, and my #1 fan, with this trip to the Super Bowl in New Orleans!”
Today, Kim lives in Dell Rapids, SD with her spouse, Clinton, and their four children. A house divided, the family's NFL alliances are split between the 49ers and Vikings. Kim’s favorite player is Justin Jefferson. She will be returning to New Orleans where she spent time assisting after Hurricane Katrina with her daughter, Aubrey, where they will both meet Jefferson and more current /former NFL legends at the USAA Salute to Service Lounge before attending the game.
