HOUSTON (Feb. 20, 2025) – Jane Campbell and Yazmeen Ryan shine in U.S. debut for the 2025 SheBelieves Cup. The USWNT opened their campaign in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup with two Houston Dash players in the starting lineup for the first time since 2016.
With Campbell in goal and Ryan down the wing, the U.S. completed a strong 2-0 victory over a Colombian side that couldn’t convert the few dangerous attacks created. Campbell reached her sixth clean sheet with the national team at Shell Energy Stadium, the home of the Houston Dash.
“It felt like home,” said Campbell, who was applauded by the home crowd while warming up.
Campbell’s history with the national team is full of success when playing at The Shell as she made her first appearance and obtained her first start there. Ryan, who played 63 minutes, assisted Catarina Macario in the first half after receiving a beautiful over-the-top pass made by Lili Yohannes. Ryan collected her second assist in only five appearances with the USWNT.
Emma Hayes’ team will now head to Arizona to face Australia on Sunday, Feb. 23, at State Farm Stadium. The Matildas are looking to bounce back after a difficult 4-0 loss against Japan.
Houston fans looking to witness more action that includes Campbell and Ryan should stay tuned as the Dash face the Washington Spirit on March 14 under the new leadership of Angela Hucles Mangano.
