The Detroit Lions upset and beat the Houston Texans by coming back from a 16-point halftime deficit just when it seemed like they were hopeless and couldn't come back. Jake Bates narrowly missed the shot inside the left upright of the field goal post to complete the dramatic comeback, but he made the game-winning 52-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Lions an exciting 26-23 success to win the game overall.
With almost two minutes left in the first quarter, Fairbairn made a field goal from 34 yards out to increase the advantage to 10-0. Sam LaPorta's 20-yard touchdown reception gave Detroit a 10–7 lead.
Goff threw three interceptions in the first two quarters which was the cause of how the Texans were taking the lead, but Detroit was behind 23-7 at the half. In the third, he threw two more picks. However, Bates' 58-yard field goal with little to less than five minutes remaining tied the score after the Lions scored 16 points in a row.

The Texans proved and were showing that they were unable to maintain the pressure against the Lions in the second half after overpowering the first. The Texans didn't score on seven second-half possessions after C.J. Stroud threw an interception on the opening play of the second half.
Houston had a chance to win late in the game but Ka'imi Fairbairn missed a 58-yard field goal that would have put Houston ahead, but Stroud guided the Texans to the 40-yard line.
Even though they blew a 16-point lead, the Texans still had a chance to win. The Texans played straight runs from Joe Mixon that traveled a total of six yards on a first-and-10 from the Lions' 46-yard line. Terrion Arnold helped break an incomplete pass that C.J. Stroud fired and threw to Xavier Hutchinson, making up a third-and-four from the 40.
Houston lost for the third time in four games, falling to 6-4. On November 18, the Texans take on the Dallas Cowboys.
