Ryan Gusto Shines: Named PCL Pitcher of the Month
SUGAR LAND, TX – Space Cowboys right-hander Ryan Gusto has been recognized for his dominant July performance, earning the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month award. The announcement was made by Minor League Baseball on Tuesday.
Gusto excelled in five starts throughout the month, compiling a 3-1 record with an astonishing 1.15 ERA. His control was exceptional, as he limited opponents to just five runs (four earned) while issuing seven walks and striking out 29 batters in 31.1 innings pitched. Four of Gusto's starts qualified as quality outings, showcasing his consistency and ability to pitch deep into games.
The young pitcher's dominance extended beyond his July performance. He currently leads the Pacific Coast League in ERA among qualified starters and ranks second in WHIP and batting average against. Gusto's impressive season has earned him recognition as the Astros Upper-Level Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July.
