The Houston Dash will kicked-off their two-game homestand with a highly anticipated match against the league-leading Orlando Pride on Friday, August 23rd. The game featured a pre-game, halftime, and post-game activation celebrating Women's Sports, featuring athletes who competed in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The Dash are returning to league play after a strong performance in the inaugural NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup, where they finished second in Group C. Forward Michelle Alozie, goalkeeper Jane Campbell, and defender Tarciane are returning to the team after representing the United States at the Olympics. The organization will honor these Olympians with a special ceremony prior to the match.

Houston is currently in 12th place in the NWSL standings but is within striking distance of a playoff spot with 10 games remaining in the regular season. A victory over the top-ranked Pride would be a significant step towards their postseason goals.

Orlando, led by Marta and Barbara Banda, has been dominant in the first half of the season. The Pride's strong offense and solid defense have propelled them to the top of the league standings. This matchup was a thrilling contest between two talented teams. Read full recap here
