On Saturday, the Houston Dash extended their defensive dominance, shutting out San Diego Wave FC 0-0 at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday night. This marks back-to-back clean sheets for the Dash, and their third shutout in the last four games.

Dash forward Diana Ordonez nearly broke the deadlock in the 10th minute. After a play switch from Barbara Olivieri, a deflected clearance landed at Ordonez's feet. Her shot took a touch off a defender, forcing a diving save from San Diego's goalkeeper, Kailen Sheridan.

Houston threatened again with a free kick in the 34th minute, but Paige Nielsen's header from Ramona Bachmann's delivery went wide.

Goalkeeper Jane Campbell, who recently extended her contract with the Dash through 2028, continued her impressive season with three saves. This clean sheet is her sixth of the year, solidifying her lead in the league for most shutouts.

The Dash defense was impenetrable in the second half, limiting the Wave to zero shots on target. Natalie Jacobs led the team with four clearances, while Andressa dominated the midfield with four interceptions. Notably, Katy native Olivieri won all four tackles and led the team with nine recoveries.

The Dash's best chances in the second half came through crosses. Sarah Puntigam and Tarciane both had opportunities but were denied by the Wave's defense. Ordonez continued to push for the winning goal late in the match, but her efforts were blocked or off target.

Despite a valiant effort in stoppage time, a header from Tarciane couldn't find the net, securing a scoreless draw for the Dash.
