The Houston Dynamo FC secured a dominant 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids at Shell Energy Stadium on Wednesday night. This marked the first time this season Houston netted three goals in a single match.

Goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell had a historic performance, tying the club record for most saves in a single game with a staggering 10 stops. This impressive display came in relief of the injured Steve Clark.

The Dynamo took the lead in the 40th minute thanks to a brilliant cross from defender Griffin Dorsey that was tapped home by forward Amine Bassi. This marked the second goal and assist for both Bassi and Dorsey, respectively.

Colorado pulled even early in the second half after a penalty awarded in the 48th minute. Kévin Cabral was tripped in the box by Tarbell, who despite saving the initial penalty kick from Rafael Navarro, couldn't stop Djordje Mihailovic from putting away the rebound.

Houston retook control of the match in the 70th minute. Latif Blessing unleashed a powerful volley from outside the box that sailed past goalkeeper Zack Steffen for his second MLS goal with the Dynamo.

Sebastian Kowalczyk extended the lead ten minutes later. Forward Aliyu Ibrahim set up the Polish international with a layoff pass at the edge of the box. Kowalczyk wasted no time, firing the ball into the bottom left corner for his first goal in front of the home crowd. This also marked Ibrahim's second assist of the season.

The win comes amidst the return of head coach Ben Olsen for Houston's next match. He served a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation last night.
