Comeback Kings: Space Cowboys Explode for 20 Runs, Top Aviators 20-7
The Sugar Land Space Cowboys (34-19) overcame a massive deficit to claim a thrilling 20-7 victory over the Las Vegas Aviators (26-27) on Wednesday night.
Early Deficit:
The Aviators jumped ahead early, capitalizing on a shaky first inning by Sugar Land starter Colton Gordon. A combination of singles, a throwing error, and a bases-clearing double by Quincy Nieporte put Las Vegas up 3-0. They added two more runs in the second and another in the third to build a seemingly comfortable 6-0 lead.
Space Cowboys Take Flight:
But the Space Cowboys weren't done yet. They erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning, fueled by a key double from David Hensley and a grand slam by Trey Cabbage. Lawerence Butler briefly tied the game for the Aviators with a solo homer, but Sugar Land responded with a two-run homer by César Salazar to retake the lead.

Offensive Onslaught:
The party continued for the Space Cowboys in the seventh inning. A barrage of hits, including multi-RBI homers from Bastidas and Cabbage, pushed their lead to a commanding 17-7 advantage. They tacked on three more runs in the eighth and ninth innings to seal the improbable comeback victory.
Record-Breaking Night:
The win was a night of firsts for the Space Cowboys. They set a new franchise record with 15 walks and their 20 runs were the most scored in a single game this season. Additionally, Trey Cabbage tied the franchise record for most RBI in a game with his eight RBIs.
Looking Ahead:
The Sugar Land bullpen was lights out, shutting down the Aviators' offense over the final five innings. They look to continue their winning ways as they face the Las Vegas Aviators again on Thursday night.
