Saturday, the Cougars beat UCF 3-1 for their second straight win.Houston extended their winning streak to five games over the weekend against UCF after beating Texas Tech and Cincinnati. Despite trading points in the second set, the Cougars won 25-20 to tie things up. As the Cougars dominated the game after losing the first set, the win in the second set fueled them for the rest of the match. As a result, UH got a comfortable win in the third set with a 25-15.
Despite their best efforts, the Knights couldn't force a fifth game as Houston won the fourth and final set 25-11. UH won its first game after losing the first set this season.
In addition to Jackson and Sauer, junior Katie Corelli had seven kills. UH had 52 kills total. The Cougars also finished the game with 14 blocks and an impressive 53 digs. UH improved to 14-7 in the year and 7-5 in the Big 12.
