The Texans annual rookie mini camp started this past week. Off limits to the general public and with the media having limited access, we did gain a glimpse into what the roster had in store. For one, there are a good amount of Texas based young men vying to make the team. Notably, Galveston Ball High school standout & Sam Houston State cornerback Tristan McCollum. McCollum was a starter for three seasons with the Bearcats. Helping secure them an FCS Championship in 2020. Jalen Pitre (S) Baylor, a 2nd rd pick agreed to a 4 year deal worth $8.9 million, with a$3.7 million signing bonus.
The Texan’s have also agreed to terms with their 1st rd pick, 15th overall, Kenyon Green (OL) Texas A&M. The Texas native is reportedly set to sign a fully-guaranteed four-year deal worth about $15.9 million. Between draft picks, college free agents and those trying out, there are 9 young men from Texas looking to make the cut. Here’s to a great season TEXANS, and best of luck.
