In a nail-biting finale to their homestand, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (82-49) rocketed past the Salt Lake Bees (61-70) 6-5 at Constellation Field on Sunday night!

The Space Cowboys wasted no time, igniting their offense in the first inning with a double from Grae Kessinger that sent him soaring home on a single by Trey Cabbage. The fire continued with a booming double by Jacob Melton, plating Cabbage for a quick 2-0 lead.

But the Bees wouldn't sting without a fight. In the third, a walk, an error, and a perfectly placed sacrifice bunt put runners in scoring position for Willie Calhoun, who unleashed a three-run homer, putting Salt Lake ahead 3-2.

The Space Cowboys weren't fazed! Pedro León answered back with a towering two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, reclaiming the lead at 4-3. The next inning, Quincy Hamilton and Tommy Sacco Jr. set the stage for Cabbage, who sliced a double to left field, scoring both runners and extending Sugar Land's lead to a comfortable 6-3.

AJ Blubaugh pitched a gem for the Space Cowboys, striking out five through the first two innings before turning the ball over to the bullpen in the sixth. The drama unfolded in the seventh as Salt Lake rallied, scoring two runs off Bryan King to make it a nail-biting 6-5 game.

But the Space Cowboys bullpen held strong! Luis Contreras shut down the eighth, and Wander Suero came in for the ninth, striking out two and securing his 31st save, just two shy of the Pacific Coast League record!

With this dramatic victory, the Space Cowboys have won seven of their last eight games and head to Oklahoma City for a six-game series on Tuesday. Buckle up, baseball fans, it's going to be a wild ride!
