Houston Texans commentator John Harris stirred controversy during the team's preseason matchup against the New York Giants on Saturday. While calling the game, Harris made a questionable comparison between Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen.

After Stroud connected with newly acquired receiver Stefon Diggs (Allen's former teammate) on a slant route, Harris claimed uncertainty about Allen's ability to make the same throw. The comment sparked immediate backlash, with many fans and analysts criticizing the broadcaster for the unnecessary jab at the highly regarded Allen.

The catch marked Diggs' first as a Texan. Acquired from the Buffalo Bills in April for a 2025 second-round pick, the wide receiver wasted little time connecting with his new quarterback, C.J. Stroud.
