Mo' Money Mo' Problems

Seems when the money comes, the lawsuits do too. After inking a new million dollar deal with the Texans, Houston's star quarterback is in the hot seat of photo posted on his Instagram account. Now, it's not anything racy or disrespectful, but get this......OF HIM.
A photographer is claiming that Watson is violating licensing use of the photos of himself. Despite it being "Pandemic 2020", the pictures in question are from 2017, 2018 and this year. Yep, you read that right.
Photographer, Aaron M. Sprecher's lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, claims that Watson never had a license from the Associated Press, the license-holder of the photos, to repost on his social media account.
My question is, WHY is he filing the lawsuit and not the Associated Press? As a photographer myself, if I sold the license to a 3rd Party, it becomes something out of my hands, because, I already got my bread. I have done freelance work for sporting organizations, and once I give them license, it's a wrap. So, I'm a little confused as to why he/himself is suing.
We will see how this plays out for Watson, but rest assure, Mr. Sprecher won't be on the Texans sideline snapping any longer.
