Brittney got that Work: Griner obtains starting roster spot
Brittney Griner was named a starter for the AT&T WNBA All-Star 2019 squad.
Griner, who is a 2014 WNBA Champion, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and 2017 WNBA Scoring Champion made the starter roster as the league office announced today.
This has been the sixth career selection for Griner. She remains one of the league’s most dominant players.
Griner currently leads the league in scoring as being the player this season raking in 20 points per game average. She is ninth in rebounds , averaging seven rebounds per game, while tallying up two blocks per game, ranking 3rd in blocks. Talk about a force to be reckoned with while holding the WNBA’s Western Conference Player of the week.
Brittney joins the ranks of Margo Dydek and Lisa Leslie by becoming third in WNBA history to reach 600 career blocks earlier this week.
