Bull by the Horns: Rough week for the Houston Texans

The Texans made a play at Bill Belichick's right-hand man, Nick Caserio, for their new general manager position. A little back story, Houston fired Brian Gaines last week to what seemed to be a big shock after a good season in his first year. You begin to wonder with the quick dismissal and recent events, if the lawsuit by a former employee of the Texans organization who is claiming racial discrimination was the source of his termination which had something to do with the new recruitment of a GM. Could it be just an angry employee seeking revenge for being terminated? or, Did Gaines just not simply fit the Texans culture?

But fast forward......

Nick Caserio is the Director of Player Personnel for the New England Patriots. The bucking of horns came about when the Texans made a play for Caserio while the Patriots have a deep desire to KEEP Caserio. With this new found interest from the Texans, this has sparked tampering charges to be filed by New England in regards to “breaking the rules”. All this coming from a team that has had PLENTY of scandals that……well nevermind.

The NFL takes these allegations serious so an investigation will be underway to determine if the Texans stepped out of bounds and violated league rules. IF, the Texans are found guilty, they could lose a draft pick, be fined, if not both.

Its interesting at this point for the Texans. Don't want to do much speculation but, the unfortunate timely fashion of these two incidents are undeniably parallel and raises some eyebrows. They typically say, you have to walk through the fire to be reborn. Maybe this firestorm of situations is the storm which could lead to better days before the start of the 2019-20 season.
