P.J. Tucker, one of the most underrated free-agent signings last summer, doesn’t have any concerns about how Carmelo Anthony will puzzle in with the team next season.
“Melo’s a great basketball player. He is one of the all-time great scorers in the league. He will come in and adjust right away. I think it will be great.”
He’s one of the best defensive weapons the Rockets have. now that Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute are gone. “That’s just part of the league,” Tucker said. “You lose guys, you get new ones. Things change and you figure out a way.”
When asked about his jersey number and playing on the same court with Chris Paul, this is what he said “It’s easy to play with Chris Paul,” Tucker said. “He is so good at this game. I don’t know anyone who can’t play with CP.” As far as the change in his number to No. 17, Tucker said he is simply going back to a number he has worn many times.
When he got to the Rockets last summer, it was taken by Isaiah Taylor (now with Atlanta.) “I’m just taking it back,” he said. “I’m just going back to my number. It’s always been special to me.”
